Zoom British Airways BAPP Briefing

20 February 2024, 9am - 11am

The objective of the British Airways Pensions Plan (BAPP) Seminar is to increase awareness of the options available to you within the scheme, and the advantages and disadvantages of each option. We will also talk through the GIA as a potential route, provide a market overview and, importantly, talk through the “Select” system and what you should consider based on your personal circumstances.

What will be covered in the Seminar?

Investment Strategies and Options:

- Is the “default” strategy within BAPP appropriate or should I consider changing my investments?

- What options do I have outside of the default strategy and what funds should I be considering?

- How do we at Lewington Wealth approach investment management and is this something I should consider?

- In light of the recent media coverage and political turmoil do I need to be concerned about the security of my Pension?

- What are my options within the Select window and what might be most appropriate for myself?

Market Overview:

- What is the cause of this volatility seen year to date and how best can I navigate it? What key themes should be considered?

- Should I be looking to make changes to my portfolio at this time?

- What is the market outlook?

BAPP vs GIA:

- Based on my personal tax position, should I consider opting for the GIA or maximising BAPP contributions? How would my annual allowance and lifetime allowance position alter my thinking here, if relevant?

- How else, on a more general basis, can I make the most out of the company contributions?

- Should I be considering any alternative investment tax strategies outside of BA?

There is no cost whatsoever to attending the above session.

If you are unable to attend the British Airways Pension Plan Seminar due to your roster or would rather move straight to an individual consultation in the first instance, please call the office on 01793 741246 and one of the team will be happy to schedule in an individual consultation.
